What's your word for 2023?

Our word for 2023 is Fortitude.

Fortitude refers to strength and resilience, and after the last couple of years, we could use a little more fortitude in all areas of our lives. For Jen Tennill Interiors in 2023, this means incorporating these three elements in our client's designs.

• Focusing on using materials that are durable and able to withstand the wear and tear of daily life. This helps create a space that feels strong and sturdy, and that can handle the challenges of time and everyday life. We are spending more time than ever in our homes now, and our spaces should respect that shift in our lifestyles.

• Designing with colors and patterns that are vibrant, as these can help to create a sense of confidence and stability. Be bold and unafraid to let your personality shine in your home. Gone are the days of all white and sterile design. Design that comforts and makes you happy should be the goal.

• Finally, choosing pieces that are timeless and of high quality, as these can help to create a sense of permanence and enduring style. No more fast, disposable design. Make choices with investment and longevity in mind. Good pieces can be refurbished over time. Disposable furnishings are barely worth the cost to ship them and won't be relevant for long.
